PEDIGREE
Sire sideFRENCHMAN’S GUY
This is a name that hardly needs an introduction. Frenchman’s Guy has become one of the most influential sires in the barrel racing industry. An AQHA Hall of Fame inductee and $20+ Million Dollar Sire, his influence can be seen in countless successful barrel horses—from the futurity pen to the rodeo arena. A direct son of the famous Sun Frost starting off this bloodline brings amazing promise. KAY TEE BAR BIANKUS If you know your old-school barrel horse bloodlines, this is one you should be excited to see! Kay Tee Bar Biankus comes from a proven performance family. Her full sibling, Captain Biankus, was a 2x NFR qualifier and competed at the NFR in 1991. Kay Tee Bar Biankus also proved herself. She found success in the futurity pen and won the Lewiston Futurity as a 4-year-old, bringing a strong and proven maternal line to an already stacked pedigree. Put those two bloodlines together and you get Bar Frenchman—Gauge’s sire. BAR FRENCHMAN Bred by the legendary Alan Woodbury and now proudly owned and standing with Rockin M Ranch in California, Bar Frenchman is still competing at 21 years old and has accumulated $75,000+ in progeny earnings. We loved this site so much we attempted to breed our own competition mare to him. And that’s ultimately how we found Gauge! We loved his sire so much that when we ran out of luck with embryos we decided to look into getting a young prospect instead. When we came across Gauge we knew he was going to be something special! Safe to say, his dad definitely stamped him—Gauge carries many of the same looks, along with that strong bone and build we loved about Bar Frenchman in the first place. |
dam sideKAILUA BAY
We’ll start with Gauge’s dam, Kailua Bay, a proven racehorse herself who earned her Racing ROM with an SI 84! She has gone on to become a successful producer herself with offspring including Baytown Memories, a stallion in Italy who became the 2013 NBHA Italy Futurity Champion! But dig a little deeper into her pedigree and things get even more exciting. OKEY DOKEY DALE Kailua Bay is a direct daughter of Okey Dokey Dale by the legendary First Down Dash. Okey Dokey Dale earned a Speed Index of 108 and proved himself on the track with top finishes in multiple Grade 1 and Grade 2 derbies. He also became one of only five sons of First Down Dash to sire offspring earning more than $13 MILLION! MARTHAS SIX MOONS Then we get another name barrel racers know well! Kailua Bay is a granddaughter of the famous Marthas Six Moons, who earned an SI 99 himself before becoming an influential sire of successful offspring both on the racetrack and in the barrel pen. He also became the #3 all-time leading barrel sire, making this an especially exciting name to find in Gauge’s maternal line. Marthas Six Moons brings exactly the kind of combination we love to see, proven racehorse speed crossed with proven barrel horse production. These major bloodlines ultimately came together to produce Gauge’s dam, Kailua Bay, who is now happily retired with Gauge being her final foal. |
